All resizing is usually done on the back of the shank (or band). We use a fine saw blade to cut the band and allow for the extra gold to go in.
Step 3
The extra piece of gold is then soldered into the back of the ring.
Step 5
The final stage is the polishing of the back of the band and the entire ring. We would Rhodium plate the white gold areas to ensure the finish was of high quality if required.
Step 2
When then roll out a piece of gold in the approximate width required to increase the size of the ring.
Step 4
The ring is then filed and emeried to clean up the worked on area's. Making the new piece the same width, thickness to ensure the resize is very difficult to detect, before the polishing process
